The NSW Government Graduate Program gives you an opportunity to shape and change the future of NSW. With three six-month rotations across government agencies, the 18-month program offers an incredibly diverse experience that allows you to shape your own career, no matter what degree you studied. There are exciting roles on offer in Sydney metro and regional NSW.
For the 2020 program, graduates can apply to be considered for two streams: the Primary Stream, and a new Legal Stream. Graduates in the Primary Stream will work on policy, project and program initiatives that contribute to the future of our state, and work towards a Diploma of Government qualification.
The Legal Stream is designed for graduates looking for a legal career within NSW Government. You will gain experience in litigation, providing legal advice and developing policy, and work towards a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. To be eligible for this stream, you will have recently completed a law degree (in the last two years) and be willing to study towards a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Graduates have ongoing support from a personal mentor and an executive sponsor throughout the program, as well as ample opportunities for cohort engagement and network development. Those who successfully complete the Program are offered a permanent position with the NSW Government.
In 2019, the NSW Government Graduate Program was ranked number 4 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers List and received the Chandler Macleod Most Popular Government & Defence Employer Award.
