I feel that I have significantly more responsibility and independence than I would as a graduate in a similar role in the industry.

As an Assistant Brand Manager at RB, you get a lot of exposure to the wider-business as you are the project manager for NPDs, EPDs, sourcing changes, artwork changes . You manage the brand's marketing spend/budget each month and also analyse how NPDs/TVCs/marketing strategies are performing. You also get to work on creative marketing campaigns i.e. TVCs, print media, social media.

Pros and cons of working at RB AU

Pros

  • Real responsibility from day 1 High level of exposure across functions of the business and senior management team Challenging work that allows for creative problem-solving.

  • The culture: My company is very fast-paced but supportive. Everyone knows how to work incredibly hard, but they also know how to play even harder.

  • You get ownership of a large brand portfolio, and have the ability to make big decisions for your brand's marketing strategy and then see the rewards/benefits of those decisions pay off!

  • Constantly motivated and challenged; Learn something new every day; More responsibility than any other company; Opportunities to present to the Leadership team.

  • Being in control of my day, my job and my destiny.

Cons

    • Steep learning curve initially.

    • The Hours - The nature of the business means that you are working relatively long hours, but the office is a fun place to be so time doesn't drag.

    • Being in control means there's no one else to blame when things go wrong.

    • Very Demanding - long hours and high pressure.

    • Co-ordination of different functions.
