Diversity and Inclusion at Capgemini

Capgemini believes that diversity of thought fuels excellence and innovation, which is why they encourage applications from qualified candidates regardless of their gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, intersex status or age. 

As part of the Capgemini team, graduates are supported through a fully inclusive culture and diversity initiatives such as Employee Resource Groups Women@Capgemini and OUTfront (their LGBTQ+ group). Capgemini celebrates special events and days of significance that are important to their employees such as International Women's’ Day (IWD), Diwali, Bastille Day, Pride, IDAHOBIT, International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD); and work with communities that are important to their workforce.

Gender

  • Capgemini’s graduate program has strong female representation (over 50%). In 2019, Capgemini Australia achieved pay parity across the organisation in like-for-like roles.
  • Capgemini refreshed policies to ensure every person in its workforce is supported by 8 weeks paid primary carer’s leave, a domestic and family violence policy, flexible work options and a new dress code to allow people to bring their best selves to work.
  • Capgemini engages high performing female talent in women leadership programmes.
  • Capgemini demonstrated it’s commitment to ‘Equal opportunities, Equal Chances’ by ensuring 100% of executive promotions were female.

LGBTQ+

Capgemini provides a safe place for graduates to bring their authentic self to work. Some of their key highlights in the past year include:

  • the creation of policies and guidelines for gender diverse employees wishing to affirm their gender in the workplace, as well as a wardrobe allowance; 
  • celebrations of days of significance for LGBTQ+ communities and hosting external guest speakers in events in their ASE; 
  • helping Sydney win their bid for the WorldPride festival in 2023 with a digital inclusion strategy to bring world pride to the world;
  • marching in the Sydney Mardi Gras and World Pride in New York, holding a stall at Canberra’s Spring Out festival, and presenting at the annual pride in practice conference; 
  • launching Capgemini’s Ally network; 
  • rainbow artwork through the office in support of colleagues;
  • holding LGBTQ+ inclusion and awareness sessions, open to all staff members and 
  • reviewing everything (and amending where required) to ensure their policies were completely inclusive of LGBTQ+ employees.
