Our programmes

Graduate Programme

As a graduate, you will learn from future-ready leaders and take advantage of our flexible graduate programme. We’ve said goodbye to rigid schedules and hello to a collaborative environment where you can pursue your passions, design, and fast track your career.

As part of a diverse team, you’ll collaborate with others across geographies and markets, applying your skills to re-imagine engineering and make the world a better place.

You will also work alongside industry-leading professionals, mentors and peers. If you would like to experience numerous areas of Aurecon’s business, we can facilitate that too.

Internship Programme

Choosing a career path as an undergraduate can be challenging. While you may have an interest in a particular area, you sometimes don’t know which path to follow until you’ve had some practical work experience. In our internship programme, you will be placed in a technical field of your choice (where possible) for approximately three months to gain experience in that field and help you decide if it is right for you.

In our internship programme you can:

  • Get a real taste of what it’s like to work at Aurecon and in your chosen field of study
  • Earn some money during your holidays
  • Work on real projects in a supportive environment
  • Learn from and partner with experienced professionals and current graduates
  • Start building your professional network
  • Get a feel for whether a graduate position at Aurecon is right for you

Aurecon’s internship programme coincides with the university summer break, so students typically start after their exam period in November/December and work through until university resumes in February/March. At the end of the experience, we give our internship students structured feedback on their performance to assist in their professional development.

While open to all students, the programme has been designed for undergraduates ideally in their penultimate year of study.

Bringing ideas to life at Aurecon is about being creative, grabbing onto new opportunities and getting the support you need to find your niche.

Our teams

Due to the wide breadth of services that Aurecon offers, we organise our work and our people across several multidisciplinary and diverse teams.

Each of our teams provides exciting career possibilities and the opportunity to work with internationally recognised experts — meaning you get to work with and learn from the best in the business whilst delivering complex and innovative projects in a collaborative peer group spread across the world.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Supportive environment. Lots of opportunities and encouragement for training and career development, plenty of different work streams, informal networking events. Many offices mean there's chances for people to move to new areas for interesting and exciting projects.
  • People genuinely care for you and your wellbeing. Most of the people I have worked with have great work ethics. Approachable and knowledgeable colleagues. Great social life, through emerging professional network (called Limelight) and company events. People don't consider you as a graduate but as a member of the team. They give you the opportunities to develop your career or extracurricular aspirations. Very supportive team.
  • The company is very caring about my well-being. They are very considerate and always understanding. The work I do is very interesting, and I am learning a lot. A lot of my university work applies and is useful in understanding the task at hand.
  • Interesting and diverse work. Part of a team that pushes my limits, but also supports me and ensures that I always swim and never sink!
  • Awesome work-life balance. Flexible arrangements are available. Very creative and innovative for an engineering firm.
  • The learning and growth opportunities that are available to me. I love that I am not just pigeon-holed in one area and that those around me provide me opportunities to explore different areas of work.
  • As a company, the bar is set so high in terms of diversity and inclusion, equality and digital work practices that it gives us permission to complain about things we wouldn't at other companies.
  • Office culture is moving towards flexible working. Still transitioning away from watching the clock. Flat hierarchy, particularly good for young professionals. Socialising is up to the individual and their teams.
  • Sometimes a lack of support or understanding of lack of experience. Graduates tend to have to 'do their time' in the tougher field roles until they gain experience and become more senior.
  • My work is usually interesting and varied with multiple projects at once, but sometimes there are some less exciting things that just need to be done as with any job.
  • The downtime, sometimes there are periods where I don’t have any work and have to look for things to do.
