About this course

Project management is a distinct professional discipline, having its own body of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques. It involves managing a project from inception to completion and the successful attainment of the project objectives.   This course is ideal for those with significant professional experience in project management, who want to enhance their knowledge, skills, tools and techniques.   This course incorporate studies in strategic planning, stakeholder management, communication management and project management information systems. You will also prepare and develop an individual research project report under the guidance of one of our experienced staff. You will learn the processes and techniques associated with project management, including cost, time, quality, risk, communication, human resources and procurement management. The program will also train you in leadership, team management and motivation.   In the final semester you will undertake either a research unit or a capstone unit and apply all of your learning to one project. The program is applicable to projects in a variety of industries including construction, engineering, education, health, commerce, information technology, research and development. The course offers flexibility to students as all units are delivered through evening classes and are available fully online. The master degree comprises three levels of study, where completion of one level gives you credit towards the next. You can choose to exit the degree at the graduate certificate or graduate diploma level.   If you have little or no experience in project management, consider the two-year Master of Project Management, which places more emphasis on the foundations of the discipline. If you complete the master degree to a high standard, you may be eligible to proceed onto doctoral-level studies.
