The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) provides registered nurses the opportunity to complete a course to enable you to apply for registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This qualification provides you with a qualification that will equip you with necessary skills and knowledge in the areas of antenatal, childbirth and postnatal care.
The Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) uses innovative teaching strategies that meet Australian national standards. Our clinical placements will prepare you to keep pace with the complex demands of today's ever-evolving health care industry in the region that you live in.
Upon completion, you will be a skilled, knowledgeable and effective midwife who is competent and capable of working in a variety of settings.
Applicants must be registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse in order to undertake the course. Applicants are also required to have an undergraduate degree for acceptance into the course. Recognition of prior learning will be assessed on a case by case basis.
CK30 Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) students must hold a current and valid registered nursing licence with AHPRA to be considered for entry into the course and ongoing enrolment in the degree. It is a course requirement that all students maintain their AHPRA nursing registration for the duration of the course. Students must immediately report any professional investigations into their nursing practice and employment, and/or any restriction or suspension of their AHPRA registration to CQUniversity.
