Developed in cooperation with the Australian Dental Council, the Australian Dental Association, local dentists, oral health practitioners and senior consultants, the Bachelor of Dental Science is a five-year undergraduate program delivered at CSU's Orange campus.
Entry Requirements
Selection for entry to the Bachelor of Dental Science is a two stage process with applicants first being selected for interview based on UMAT (Undergraduate Medical and Health Sciences Admissions Test) score (domestic students) or GPA (international applicants/current CSU students). Following interview, applicants will be selected for offer based on interview outcome. When ranking applicants for an offer UMAT/GPA may be used to rank applicants with identical interview scores. The following selection criteria will be adopted when assessing applicants:A demonstrated interest in, and understanding of, rural and regional Australia, oral health inequalities, and dental practice within these regions. High level academic ability. The capacity to communicate effectively. Evidence of skill in manual dexterity and spatial sense. Evidence of the understanding of teamwork and motivation to become a dental practitioner. Evidence of community involvementRural and Indigenous ApplicantsRural and Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply for this course. For 2019, 50 per cent of places will be set aside for applicants who have a rural/regional background or who are Indigenous applicants.   Applicants who wish to apply for a place via the Rural and Indigenous Applicants pathway are required to submit a Rural and Indigenous Supplementary Form.
