The Graduate Certificate in Teaching is designed for those whose employment prospects may have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and who are interested in upskilling or retraining. It is for those wishing to build a challenging and rewarding career as a primary or secondary teacher. You will be able to develop the skills and knowledge to start your journey towards empowering young people through inclusive learning practices and make a positive difference in their lives.
Research based learning and reflective practice underpin the four units offered in this course to provide you with the ability to develop a critical approach to teaching and learning and understand how to link theory with practice in different learning environments. You will explore how physical, psychological and social factors impact learning; effective teaching practices and strategies; how to foster positive behaviour practices; and diversity and inclusive frameworks for learning needs of individuals.
If your goal is to become an accredited teacher, successful completion of this certificate may help you gain entry, and provides credit, for a range of ACU postgraduate teaching degrees.
