I started my graduate job search like most University Graduates, and stumbled upon Ericsson searching for Software Engineers. This immediately struck my attention as Ericsson is a renowned company to work for and I was interested in getting into the booming Telecommunications/IT industry, especially as these two industries are currently at a point of convergence. This is an exciting time to be involved. From there I was accepted as a Graduate engineer and on my second rotation through the company found a place I was adept at (IMS engineering). As I grew in the area I became more responsible for tasks and was given a lot of trust from my cohort, this eventually led me from purely a technical role, to management of our testing activities for developments in the IMS area. Typically my day ranges in activities, from debugging network issues; to scheduling, resourcing, and corresponding with customers for large test/integration programs. Within Ericsson I have completed many Technical certifications as well as external ITIL certification. I am now Targeting TOGAF certification. The main project I have completed at Ericsson is the Test management for the rollout of VoLTE for the Telstra network, this was an Australian first and was a large milestone in the Australian Telecommunication Industry. The culture surrounding Ericsson is one that supports and develops growth from both technical and business approaches.
